ssi™ Wideband Diffuser Specifications
ssi Band Stainless Steel diffusers are available in 304L or 316L stainless steel, or in special materials upon request. They feature a clog-free design; with oxygen transfer rates of 0.5 to 0.8% per foot of submergence. They have a reliable alpha value and are designed to economically cover the tank floor. The design of the ssi Band is longer than the typical Stainless Wide Band on the market, for good reason. It offers better floor coverage at a more economical price.
Air supply is provided by PVC or stainless steel pipes. The headers serve as orifice control for the ssi Band diffuser, removing the need for separate orifice control, which is typical of other types of Wide Band diffusers.
ssi Band diffusers are shipped with support stands, which eliminates the need for an expensive manifold and header-piping grid. The stands, which are supplied with the diffusers, are typically sufficient to support the entire floor mounted piping grid.
The bubbles produced by this diffuser are considered medium or coarse. This diffuser is most often applied for low oxygen requirement biological treatment, and for mixing in aerobic digesters, channels, equalization tanks and grit chambers.
